How Can You Deliver Flowers in a Time Like This?

Tags:

Our business has never been about maximizing profit (most of the time it's about no profit). We are driven by building community, supporting growers, serving customers and our love of flowers.

Health and safety is our highest priority. There is always some, very low, risk in our work: transportation, sharp objects, ladders, noxious plants and insects, surly management. We do not want to add any additional hazards to our employees, customers, growers or ourselves.

We are continuing to deliver flowers. We do it carefully. We are following all laws and guidance (updated March 30 2020) from the Governor and health officials.

Every person in the delivery process has chosen to participate: growers, workers and customers. In fact, several regular customers of The Bucket are JHU physicians including a pulmonary specialist who is working hard to save the lives of people infected with COVID-19.

Our Clean Team Process

Our farmers do not have contact with our workers. The flowers are usually delivered to an empty shop. If a designer is working, the flowers are delivered outside and the designer brings them in after the delivery is complete.

Our designer/delivery boy works alone in the studio. She also delivers alone and only makes outside drop-offs. She has discretion to abandon a delivery she is not comfortable making. The delivery van is equipped with hand sanitizer, sanitizing spray, and sanitizing wipes.

It's Flowers!

Our work is important. Our work practices are safe. We may not be an essential business in the eyes of the State, but we are essential to a small number of farmers and workers. Our flowers bring joy to our customers' lives in this difficult time. We have more orders than ever, and we couldn't be more grateful for your support.

Be healthy! Be happy! Flowers matter!
